Jimmy leans back in his chair and clears his throat. "The last time we were in Vegas, the most amazing thing happened to us."
Mike chortles. "Yea, you have to hear this," he says with a smirk. George, Thomas, and I sit up and listen.
"Let's just haul his ass out of bed man," Tom asserted. Tyrone and Eric nodded and followed him into the bedroom. I poured myself another scotch and looked at my watch. It was ten past midnight.
"Kit! Get up!"
Silence.
Here's how it went down. Eric (8 yrs old) and Robbie (7 yrs old), from the groom's side, were the ring bearers. Rachel (4 yrs old) and her little sister (2 yrs old), from the bride's side, were the flower girls.
The two sets of kids didn't mingle much in the beginning. And of course they didn't. At that age, girls and boys have cooties.
While gaily giggling, the girls stripped to their garters and g-strings. On fluffy pillows they frolicked and pounced. Their teasing touches turned on coy smiles.
"So when do you girls get naked?" I asked.
Vinny's eyes narrowed as he spoke.
"After I gave my daughter a great big hug, I brought in her boyfriend—well, I guess I should start calling him 'her fiancée' from now on."
He took a swig of tea. The entire table was so fascinated by his tale that no one dared break the silence until he finished.
