By Mike Lee

Here's a Valentine's Idea for the gents living in California: take your sweetie to Mendocino!

Mendocino's roughly four hours north of San Francisco on the 101. If you have a bit more time and would rather a more adventurous and scenic drive, take the Pacific Coast Highway instead.

Trained

June 3rd, 2001
By Mike Lee

I can proudly say that I am trained to be a pretty good boyfriend.

Thusly, I am Boyfriend Trained.

I know what it takes to be a pretty good boyfriend. Toilet bowl seat up. Shave before kissing. Farts are not funny (especially in front of her friends). And she never looks fat in those pants.

Was it dreamt or was it real? When I look back, I can't tell.

Imagine for a moment that you have a paper to write. You have only three more days to begin and complete it because you've left it to the Last Minute.

By Mike Lee

If you had to choose between Honor and Passion, which would you choose?

The movie "First Knight" came up in a conversation with friends the other day. If you're not familiar with this movie, it's based on the legend of King Arthur and Lady Guinevere. Though Lady Guinevere is married to King Arthur, she falls for Sir Lancelot.

Then she has to make a choice: King Arthur or Sir Lancelot?

My First Kiss

September 5th, 1999
By Mike Lee

I can still taste my first kiss.

She had been chewing gum. Trident. It's her favorite.

We met each other through a mutual friend. I saw her a few more times after that, in my dorm. We'd sit in the hallway, procrastinating and playing cards 'till dawn.

There Were Signs

July 18th, 1999
By Mike Lee

There were signs. I was sure of it.

A forked clinked on a plate, a sure sign that our conversation hit a lull. So I brought up the topic of architecture.

"Did you know that most ancient European architecture is based on the sperm and the egg?"
